Daher m\u00fcssen wir das Stillen als ein wichtiges Thema der \u00f6ffentlichen Gesundheit anerkennen. Wenn Babys Muttermilch erhalten, verbessert sich die Gesundheit von S\u00e4uglingen, M\u00fcttern und Familien. Gesunde Familien schaffen ges\u00fcndere Gemeinschaften.<\/p>\n<p>Muttermilch ist eine dynamische, sich st\u00e4ndig ver\u00e4ndernde Substanz, die S\u00e4uglingen eine ma\u00dfgeschneiderte Ern\u00e4hrung und Schutz vor verschiedenen Bakterien, Viren und anderen Krankheiten bietet. Stillen schafft eine starke Bindung zwischen Mutter und Kind. Stillende M\u00fctter erholen sich auch leichter von der Entbindung und leiden tendenziell seltener an postpartalen Depressionen. Durch die Produktion von Muttermilch werden zus\u00e4tzliche Kalorien verbrannt, was es M\u00fcttern erleichtert, nach der Geburt ein gesundes Gewicht zu erreichen. Zu den langfristigen Vorteilen f\u00fcr M\u00fctter geh\u00f6rt ein geringeres Risiko f\u00fcr Brust- und Eierstockkrebs.<\/p>\n<p>Die Vorteile der Muttermilch sind \u201edosisabh\u00e4ngig\u201c, d. h. je l\u00e4nger die Stilldauer, desto gr\u00f6\u00dfer sind die gesundheitlichen Vorteile f\u00fcr das Baby und die Mutter.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Die American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) gibt an, dass S\u00e4uglinge in den ersten 6 Monaten nach der Geburt ausschlie\u00dflich Muttermilch erhalten sollten. Ausschlie\u00dfliches Stillen bedeutet, dass der S\u00e4ugling keine zus\u00e4tzliche Nahrung (au\u00dfer Vitamin D) oder Fl\u00fcssigkeit erh\u00e4lt, sofern dies nicht medizinisch empfohlen wird. Anschlie\u00dfend wird mit der Einf\u00fchrung von Beikost f\u00fcr ein Jahr oder l\u00e4nger weitergestillt, je nach gegenseitigem Wunsch von Mutter und Kind.<\/p>\n<p>Dar\u00fcber hinaus gibt es laut AAP \u201ekeine Obergrenze f\u00fcr die Stilldauer und keine Hinweise auf Sch\u00e4den durch Stillen im dritten Lebensjahr oder l\u00e4nger.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>In Zeiten einer nationalen Krise kann das Stillen den Familien zus\u00e4tzliche Vorteile bringen, auch finanzielle Vorteile. Bei einer gro\u00dfen Zahl von Personen, die k\u00fcrzlich arbeitslos geworden sind, k\u00f6nnen die Formelkosten eine zus\u00e4tzliche Belastung f\u00fcr Familien darstellen, da die Gesamtkosten im ersten Jahr etwa $2.000 oder mehr betragen! Muttermilch ist immer verf\u00fcgbar und kostenlos! Stillende M\u00fctter m\u00fcssen sich keine Sorgen \u00fcber einen m\u00f6glichen Mangel an S\u00e4uglingsnahrung im Supermarkt machen.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Krankenpflege kann eine lebensrettende Methode zur S\u00e4uglingsern\u00e4hrung in Zeiten von Naturkatastrophen wie gro\u00dffl\u00e4chigen \u00dcberschwemmungen oder Wirbelst\u00fcrmen sein. Bei solchen Katastrophen ist es oft schwierig oder unm\u00f6glich, auf Vorr\u00e4te an S\u00e4uglingsnahrung zuzugreifen, geschweige denn auf sauberes Wasser oder sanit\u00e4re Einrichtungen f\u00fcr eine sichere S\u00e4uglingsern\u00e4hrung.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nWIC-Teilnehmerinnen des Tulsa Health Department erhalten beim Stillen Unterst\u00fctzung von zwei WIC-Still-Peer-Beratern. WIC-Peer-Berater f\u00fcr Stillen sind ehemalige (oder gegenw\u00e4rtige) WIC-Teilnehmer, die pers\u00f6nliche Erfahrungen mit dem Stillen haben. Sie sind jetzt bei WIC besch\u00e4ftigt und erhalten eine evidenzbasierte Schulung zu Stillthemen. Dadurch sind sie in einzigartiger Weise daf\u00fcr qualifiziert, andere WIC-M\u00fctter auf ihrem eigenen Weg zum Stillen zu unterst\u00fctzen und zu ermutigen. Wir besch\u00e4ftigen au\u00dferdem eine IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant), zu deren Spezialgebieten die Vorbereitung stillender M\u00fctter auf die R\u00fcckkehr zur Arbeit und die Aufrechterhaltung des Stillens, das Abpumpen und Aufbewahren von Muttermilch w\u00e4hrend der Trennung vom Baby sowie das Unterrichten von Kursen zum vorgeburtlichen Stillen f\u00fcr werdende WIC-M\u00fctter geh\u00f6ren .<\/p>\n<p>THD bietet mit dem Connect First-Programm auch zus\u00e4tzliche klinische Laktationsdienste \u00fcber ein IBCLC an. Das Connect First-Programm bietet mehrmals im Jahr kostenlose Stillkurse an. Der Unterricht ist \u00f6ffentlich.
