Sin embargo, antes de ese momento, los epis siempre hab\u00edan llevado a cabo investigaciones de casos, estudiado la vigilancia de enfermedades y prevenido brotes silenciosamente ayudando a los clientes a mantenerse seguros y saludables. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Quiz\u00e1s incluso recuerdes algunos episodios famosos de la escuela: John Snow, Louis Pasteur, Joseph Lister y Robert Koch, por nombrar algunos. Estas personas son conocidas por su trabajo en la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00f3lera, la pasteurizaci\u00f3n, los antis\u00e9pticos y el \u00e1ntrax.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los epidemi\u00f3logos de hoy en d\u00eda trabajan en todos los niveles del gobierno y en el sector privado, y contin\u00faan influyendo en las mejores pr\u00e1cticas en la prevenci\u00f3n de enfermedades. Trabajando incansablemente, los epis de todo el pa\u00eds pasaron a primer plano ya que fueron los iniciadores en el estudio de la incidencia y prevalencia de COVID-19. En 2020, los epidemi\u00f3logos de THD protegieron a personas y familias realizando un rastreo de contactos para determinar qui\u00e9n podr\u00eda ser infeccioso, estudiando la prevalencia de enfermedades y previniendo brotes tanto como fuera posible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fuera de la pandemia de COVID-19, los epis de THD contin\u00faan realizando investigaciones de casos de enfermedades notificables en Oklahoma. Es posible que haya recibido una llamada de uno de nuestros epis sobre una enfermedad espec\u00edfica. Principalmente, aquellas enfermedades que afectan al sistema gastrointestinal, y aquellas que se contagian f\u00e1cilmente por el contacto piel a piel, el aire o la sangre. A trav\u00e9s de la investigaci\u00f3n, el trabajo de un epi es prevenir una mayor propagaci\u00f3n de una enfermedad infecciosa determinando posibles exposiciones, proporcionando recursos educativos y estudiando los datos para determinar el origen y la causalidad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Los THD epis se centran lo m\u00e1s posible en la prevenci\u00f3n para minimizar los efectos nocivos de las enfermedades. Al hacerlo, los encontrar\u00e1 asistiendo a eventos comunitarios, impartiendo presentaciones educativas en universidades y escuelas y realizando entrevistas con los medios para difundir recursos oportunos y espec\u00edficos.
