TULSA, OK – [May 17, 2021] \u2013 The Tulsa Health Department has partnered with Tulsa Transit to launch a new incentive program for Tulsa Transit riders to encourage COVID-19 vaccinations and increase accessibility.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe COVID-19 vaccines are safe, effective and free to everyone. The Tulsa Health Department is committed to reducing barriers and increasing the accessibility of the vaccine in collaboration with our community partners,\u201d said THD Executive Director Dr. Bruce Dart. \u201cWe are grateful to Tulsa Transit for their generous contribution to provide incentives to encourage vaccinations so we can help protect more residents in our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Effective immediately, Tulsa Transit riders who receive a free COVID-19 vaccination at three local vaccine clinics will receive a free 10-Ride Pass to return for their second dose. They will also receive a free 1-Day Pass as an added incentive once they receive their second dose. Tulsa Transit certified Lift customers can make a reservation through the Tulsa Transit call center for a free roundtrip ride to a vaccination center as well.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Riders must present their bus ticket or receipt at time of vaccination to receive the free ride passes. The program is offered at the following vaccine clinic locations:<\/p>\n

We hope by reducing this possible transportation barrier, more citizens are encouraged to get vaccinated and protect other members of our community.\u201d<\/p>\n
Anyone age 12 and older is eligible to receive a free COVID-19 vaccine. Those age 17 and under must have a parent or guardian present for consent to receive the vaccine.<\/p>\n
The CDC recently announced updated safety guidelines for fully vaccinated individuals. Federal guidelines from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, along with the Transportation Security Administration, still require face masks when traveling on public transportation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
