TULSA, OK \u2013 [March 26, 2020] \u2013 In order to protect the health of the public and reduce the number of staff in the office, the Oklahoma State Department of Health (OSDH) will temporarily suspend lobby and mail application services for Vital Records. Effective immediately and until further notice, OSDH Vital Records Office will only fill requests for birth and death certificates which are submitted online or by phone. This includes the office at the Tulsa Health Department James O. Goodwin Health Center at 51st & 129th East Avenue.\u00a0

\nDuring this time, a limited number of staff will remain on site to fill online and phone requests.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nTHD does not accept online or phone orders directly; however individuals can process on\u2010line requests through approved partners such as PayIt and VitalChek or phone through VitalChek. An additional fee is charged for using these services and all major credit cards are accepted.\u00a0
\n\u00a0
\nFor birth certificates only, patrons can download the myOklahoma app through a device app store. Most orders are shipped within three business days.
\n\u00a0
\nOklahoma funeral homes can order death certificates through a dedicated portal with VitalChek to make this service available. VitalChek has waived the $6 portal fee for the next 30 days for any funeral director who has not previously accessed the portal.

\nAs of March 16, OSDH Newborn Hearing Screening Program has temporarily ceased letters in regards to hearing screening services. THD is expected to see a reduction in the number of infants coming in for follow-up screenings during this time period, but audiology services are still available. \u00a0Families arriving for a hearing screening will need to pass a COVID-19 triage screen to continue with the hearing screening.

\nAs of today, March 26, THD\u2019s Child Guidance Program, a statewide program that supports healthy family relationships and child development, will suspend face-to-face visits with clients. Services can still be accessed via web or phone at 918-582-9355.\u00a0<\/p>\n
