TULSA, OK \u2013 [July 27, 2018] \u2013\u00a0The Tulsa Health Department will host a free pop-up immunization record request clinic on Saturday, August 4, from 12 to 4 p.m. at Woodland Hills Mall, 7021 S. Memorial Dr. The pop-up clinic will be located in the lower level Sears court.<\/p>\n
\u201cImmunizations are one of the best ways to protect the health of your child against vaccine-preventable diseases,\u201d said THD Division Chief of Preventive Health Priscilla Haynes. \u201cWe hope many parents will take advantage of this service while they are back-to-school shopping during Tax Free weekend.\u201d<\/p>\n
THD provides immunizations according to the Oklahoma school requirements, CDC recommendations and the childhood and adolescent immunization schedule.<\/p>\n
\u201cParents and legal guardians of children under the age of 18 may obtain their child\u2019s immunization records during Saturday\u2019s pop-up clinic,\u201d said Haynes. \u201cFor those who qualify, the Oklahoma Caring Van will be on site to provide the necessary vaccinations for school enrollment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Children through age 18 years are eligible to receive vaccines at no charge through the\u00a0Vaccines for Children (VFC)\u00a0program if any of the following apply: they are uninsured, Native American Indian, Native Alaskan, or their insurance policy does not cover vaccines. Infants, children and adolescents must be accompanied by their parent or guardian to receive immunizations.<\/p>\n
THD currently accepts Cigna, Community Care, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Health Choice, Medicare and SoonerCare Medicaid for immunizations. Coverage can vary among different insurance plans. Please bring your insurance card and photo ID with you.\u00a0 It is always advisable to check with your insurance provider for coverage specifics before receiving immunizations, as you may be responsible for charges that are not covered by your insurance policy.<\/p>\n
