La hepatitis viral es una causa com\u00fan y prevenible de enfermedad hep\u00e1tica que causa inflamaci\u00f3n y cicatrizaci\u00f3n en el h\u00edgado con el tiempo. Esto puede provocar c\u00e1ncer, cirrosis y la muerte en algunas personas. Los tres tipos de hepatitis viral que investiga THD son A, B y C. La hepatitis A se transmite por v\u00eda fecal-oral. La hepatitis B es una infecci\u00f3n de transmisi\u00f3n sexual que tambi\u00e9n se puede transmitir a trav\u00e9s del contacto con la sangre de una persona infectada o de madre a hijo durante el parto. La hepatitis C s\u00f3lo se transmite a trav\u00e9s del contacto con la sangre de una persona infectada y de madre a hijo durante el parto. Si bien existen distinciones entre los diferentes tipos de hepatitis, todos afectan el h\u00edgado\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Estad\u00edsticas de hepatitis<\/p>\n<p>El objetivo de una investigaci\u00f3n de salud p\u00fablica sobre la hepatitis viral es conectar a la persona con recursos para tratamiento y brindar educaci\u00f3n para reducir la probabilidad de que el virus se transmita a otras personas. El tipo m\u00e1s com\u00fan de hepatitis viral reportado en el condado de Tulsa (y los Estados Unidos) es la hepatitis C. Del Informe anual THD 2020-2021:<\/p>\n<p>4 casos de hepatitis A<br \/>\n318 casos de hepatitis B<br \/>\n980 casos de hepatitis C<\/p>\n<p>Estas cifras son peque\u00f1as en comparaci\u00f3n con la cantidad de personas infectadas y sin conocimiento. Aproximadamente 4 de cada 10 personas con hepatitis C no saben que est\u00e1n infectadas.<\/p>\n<p>Datos breves sobre la hepatitis<\/p>\n<p>La buena noticia es que la hepatitis C es curable para la mayor\u00eda de las personas dentro de 8 a 12 semanas de tratamiento y hay una vacuna disponible para la hepatitis A y B. La mejor manera de prevenir la transmisi\u00f3n de la hepatitis A o B es mediante la vacuna. THD ofrece vacunas para la hepatitis A y B. No existe vacuna para la hepatitis C. La mejor manera de prevenir la infecci\u00f3n por hepatitis C es evitar comportamientos que propaguen la enfermedad, especialmente compartir jeringas y equipos para el uso de drogas.<br \/>\n\u00a0<br \/>\nSi bien el reciente aumento de casos de hepatitis C coincide con la crisis de opioides y el uso de drogas inyectables, un n\u00famero igual de casos de hepatitis C cr\u00f3nica se encuentran en la poblaci\u00f3n de la generaci\u00f3n del baby boom.
