Affordable Care Act Insurance and Eligibility Information, Presentations and Q&A Sessions<\/p>\n
TULSA, OK – [November 25, 2014] \u2013\u00a0\u00a0Families and individuals interested in learning more about obtaining health insurance through the Affordable Care Act Marketplace Exchange are invited to learn how to \u201cClaim Your Coverage\u201d at an educational event on Monday, December 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at TCC Northeast Campus, 3727 East Apache. The event is free and open to the public.<\/p>\n
Attendees will have the opportunity to learn about the Health Insurance Marketplace Exchange, find out who is eligible for help paying for premiums, how to choose the best health insurance plan, and more. Certified Marketplace Navigators will provide special presentations in English and Spanish covering:<\/p>\n
Specific information for American Indians and Alaska Natives
\nRe-enrollment information
\nImmigration rules and eligibility
\nPremium tax credits and cost sharing reductions
\nHealth insurance basics to help choose the best plan<\/p>\n
Community partner agencies are also encouraged to attend to learn how to help clients and consumers better understand their options when it comes to enrolling on the Marketplace Exchange.<\/p>\n
An all-day \u201cClaim Your Coverage\u201d enrollment session will be held on Monday, December 8, from 10 a.m.to 6 p.m. at TCC Northeast Campus. The free event will provide free confidential, one-on-one assistance enrolling on Healthcare.gov. Attendees to the enrollment session are encouraged to bring several important documents to the event: social security numbers and\/or immigration status numbers for all family members; employer and\/or other income information; policy numbers for any current health insurance; and information about any job related health insurance currently available. Assistance is available in English and Spanish.<\/p>\n
The Marketplace Exchange is an insurance plan exchange that allows people to compare various types of insurance coverage side-by-side to determine which plan is best for them and their family. Through the Marketplace, you can also determine if you are eligible for programs to lower the cost of your insurance coverage. You may be eligible for a Special Enrollment Period outside of Open Enrollment. American Indian\/Alaska Native populations can enroll at any time. Others can qualify for a Special Enrollment Period if they have incurred certain life change events such as getting married, having a baby, or loss of credible insurance coverage.<\/p>\n
