Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd.<\/p>\n<p>The event is the third annual Flash Focus. This year&#8217;s exhibit focuses on how tobacco affects and impacts the Tulsa community. Last year, the exhibit focused on the relationship between health disparities and &#8220;food deserts,&#8221; or areas within the Tulsa community where affordable, healthy food is difficult to obtain.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s important to garner the perspective of the impact of health issues through the lens of local youth. \u00a0This project is also an opportunity to educate young people, indirectly, about the impact of tobacco on the community and the environment,\u201d said Reggie Ivey, Tulsa Health Department chief operating officer. \u201cEvery day in Oklahoma, 16 people die due to tobacco-related illnesses. This is a number we are working to reduce and we believe our youth have the power to help in the fight against tobacco.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The cost of the event is $15 and tickets can be purchased by calling Beverly Baul (918) 595-4455 or Lela Shaw (918) 595-4264.
