Thanksgiving Food Safety

The holiday season is a wonderful time to cook delicious meals that are traditional for the season and various cultures. Many people don’t realize that food safety is the most important ingredient in preparing food for the holidays.

While we are surrounded by friends and family busy hosting our loved ones, make sure to prepare your foods separately, cook the meat thoroughly, keep food at the appropriate temperature and wash your hands often.

Also, do you know how long leftovers can stay in the fridge after the big meal? Thanksgiving leftovers are safe to eat for up to four days when stored in the refrigerator. In the freezer, leftovers are safely frozen indefinitely but will keep the best quality for two to six months.
