Hartford Ave., from 6 to 8 p.m. Parents and teens will have the opportunity to gather both separately and together for candid discussion about sexual health, \u201cthe talk,\u201d and preventing teen pregnancy. There will also be door prizes, giveaways and food for attendees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Dress for the Occasion is being held in recognition of the twelfth annual National Day to Prevent Teen Pregnancy, which is May 1. The purpose of the National Day is to focus the attention of teens on the importance of avoiding too-early pregnancy and parenthood through an interactive online quiz.<\/p>\n<p>On the National Day, teens nationwide are asked to go www.StayTeen.org and take the National Day Quiz, which challenges them to think carefully about what they might do &#8220;in the moment&#8221; through a series of interactive scenarios. \u00a0This year, for the first time, teens will be able to insert themselves and their friends directly into the quiz by creating personalized avatars (a graphical representation of the user).<\/p>\n<p>Dress for the Occasion teen pregnancy prevention workshop is sponsored by the Tulsa Teen Pregnancy Prevention Coalition, Planned Parenthood of the Heartland, Tulsa Health Department, and Youth Services of Tulsa.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The Tulsa Health Department\u2019s Personal Responsibility Education Program specializes in empowering young adults to make proud and responsible decisions, as well as educating them about the dangers and risks associated with sexual activity. The goal of the program is to prevent teen births and sexually transmitted infections, including HIV.
