This year, THD inspectors will log more than 250 hours and complete an estimated 500 inspections and spot checks during the fair’s 11-day run. The agency’s goal is to ensure every food booth earns its official THD sticker, which signals to fairgoers that the location has met safety standards to receive a license.
The work at the Tulsa State Fair is a key part of THD’s larger mission to safeguard public health across Tulsa County. THD’s inspectors work year-round, performing nearly 16,000 inspections over the past two years in Tulsa County’s more than 4,800 retail food establishments.
