Tulsa, Okla. — [Oct. 16, 2026] — The Tulsa Health Department (THD) will host its 10th annual North Tulsa Community Baby Shower on Saturday, October 24, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The free come-and-go event will be held at the YMCA Gym at TCC Northeast Campus, located at 3727 E. Apache St. Parking for participants is available in lots 5, 6 and 8.
The event is designed to honor and support expectant parents and families with children under one year old who reside in North Tulsa zip codes 74106, 74110, 74115, 74116, 74117, 74126, 74127 and 74130.
The North Tulsa Community Baby Shower will provide valuable resources, education and celebratory activities in a fun and welcoming environment. Attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Connect with local agencies and health care providers offering parenting support.
- Attend educational sessions on topics such as infant safe sleep, a key effort to reduce infant mortality.
- Take a picture at the free photo booth, participate in fun activities and enjoy delicious food.
- Receive prizes, diapers, wipes, clothing and other giveaways to prepare their homes for their new baby.
- Sample delicious mocktails and receiving recipe cards from Tulsa’s Stop DUI Task Force in coordination with THD’s Regional Prevention Coordinator program.
- Visit the Fatherhood Hub, a dedicated area for fathers and father figures with resources especially for them, to reinforce the role dads have in their baby’s life.
“This event is an important part of our efforts to support Tulsa families with the valuable resources, education and connections they need to give their babies a healthy start in life,” said Sian Mang, community systems development specialist. “We want every family and caregiver to feel welcomed, supported and celebrated. The North Tulsa Community Baby Shower is hosted by the Tulsa Health Department and generously sponsored by GKFF Birth Through Eight Strategy for Tulsa, Humana, Ascension St. John, Oklahoma Complete Health, Aetna and the Tulsa Health Department Healthy Start program.
