HIV/AIDS Testing

Human immunodeficiency virus, or HIV, progressively destroys the body’s ability to fight infections and certain cancers. It is recommended that everyone between the ages of 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routine health care.

What is HIV?

HIV causes AIDS – Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. People with AIDS are susceptible to life-threatening diseases called opportunistic infections. HIV is spread by sexual contact with an HIV-infected partner or through contact with infected blood, which can occur when injection drug users share needles. For more information click here.

THD’s Sexually Transmitted Disease Clinic provides HIV testing for anyone over the age of 12 who is sexually active. Disease intervention specialists and a Spanish-speaking interpreter are available.

HIV testing is available for $20, which includes testing for HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea and chlamydia.

Hours and availability for HIV testing vary by location. Appointments are recommended. Please call 918-582-9355 for more information.

Individuals may ask for a brown bag that contains free condoms at any of the THD clinic locations. Ending HIV Oklahoma also aims to eradicate the transmission of Sexually Transmitted Diseases once and for all. To receive free condoms via mail order, you must be an Oklahoma resident age 13 and older. Condoms and lube will be sent in discreet packaging to the address provided.
