Physical Education

The Tulsa Health Department’s School Health program provides physical education lessons that inspire students to enjoy being active while learning how movement supports lifelong health. By teaching the importance of regular physical activity, we help students understand how staying active can reduce the risk of developing chronic health conditions.

Team Building in Physical Education (PE) helps students strengthen teamwork skills while practicing interpersonal communication through fun, active games.

Nutrition in PE engages students in active games that teach MyPlate and the importance of eating a variety of foods daily from all five food groups.

Blender Bikes
The blender bike lesson combines a fun nutrition game with the opportunity for students to pedal a stationary bike that powers a blender to make a smoothie.

Incorporating Core Curriculum in PE engages students in active games that reinforce math skills and spelling through movement with numbers and letters.

Stompers in PE gets students moving with team-based games using stompers that launch balls when stepped on, promoting fun, teamwork, cardiovascular health, hand-eye coordination and communication.

It’s All About Kinesthetics is a 3rd – 5th grade after-school program that teaches functional fitness exercises while exploring how different body systems work.
