The Tulsa Health Department has been awarded a Top Workplaces 2024 honor by The Oklahoman.
This list is based solely on employee feedback gathered through a third-party survey administered by employee engagement technology partner Energage LLC. The confidential survey uniquely measures the employee experience and its component themes, including employees feeling respected and supported, enabled to grow and empowered to execute, to name a few.
“We are honored to be recognized as a Top Workplace in Oklahoma,” said Executive Director Dr. Bruce Dart. “This award is a testament to our dedicated staff who work tirelessly to improve the health and well-being of our community. We are committed to creating a positive and supportive work environment that empowers our employees to excel while they provide public health services to improve health in Tulsa County.”
In late 2022, THD was awarded an $8.3 million Public Health Infrastructure Grant from the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). This significant investment by the CDC has allowed the department to invest in employee development, training and wellness programs which contribute to a thriving workplace culture.
There are many rewarding benefits of choosing a career in public health, including the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in Tulsa County. THD supports staff through a comprehensive package of pay, benefits, paid training opportunities and professional development programs.
“Earning a Top Workplaces award is a badge of honor for companies, especially because it comes authentically from their employees,” said Eric Rubino, Energage CEO. “That’s something to be proud of. In today’s market, leaders must ensure they’re allowing employees to have a voice and be heard. That’s paramount. Top Workplaces do this, and it pays dividends.”
