The Tulsa Health Department’s School Health program is an initiative started in 2004 that now reaches over 50 elementary schools each year to teach health and physical education lessons that align with Oklahoma Academic Standards. Our goal is to improve the health and well-being of students and school employees, equipping them with skills to make healthy decisions that last a lifetime.
Tulsa County elementary schools who are interested in partnering with School Health can complete an annual School Health Readiness Assessment.
School Health offers professional development opportunities for school staff geared toward enhancing health and physical education for elementary schools.
We partner with physical education teachers to elevate their classes by bringing games and activities into the PE classroom to engage students and meet state standards.
