Tulsa, OK) The Tulsa Health Department’s Know Your Numbers program has partnered with the Tulsa City-County Library to offer residents free health screenings at various locations throughout the year. The first screening will be held on Friday, August 3rd from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00p.m. at the Hardesty Regional Library, located at 8316 E. 93rd St, Tulsa, OK.
The screening tests are open to adults 18 years or older and include: blood pressure, full lipid panel (cholesterol, HDL, LDL, and triglycerides), hemoglobin (anemia), glucose A1c (no fasting required), body mass index (BMI), waist to hip ratio measurements, and test results reviewed with a health mentor. No appointment is necessary.
“The Know Your Numbers program makes it easy for individuals to be aware of their biometric numbers by offering their results on-site. Individuals have a private consultation with a Registered Nurse or Registered Dietitian in order to understand their numbers and learn how to improve or maintain their health,” said Jill Almond, Wellness Coordinator at the Tulsa Health Department.
Know Your Numbers, part of the Tulsa Healthy Pathways Project, is a grant-funded program that offers free health screenings and follow up referrals for individuals in areas througout Tulsa County for up to three years.
