Learn how to prevent and manage diabetes and connect with local health resources in Tulsa County. Free virtual education session.

The Tulsa Health Department’s Tulsa County Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), in partnership with Ability Resources, invites community members and partners to attend a Diabetes Empowerment Education Session.

This virtual session is designed to increase awareness of diabetes prevention and management while connecting participants to trusted community programs and resources in Tulsa County.

Diabetes and other chronic diseases continue to impact many individuals and families. This session will provide a high-level overview of diabetes education, including strategies to support healthier lifestyles and reduce chronic disease risk factors.

Participants will learn:

During this session, participants will:

  • Gain a better understanding of diabetes and how it affects the body
  • Learn about lifestyle strategies that support prevention and management
  • Explore ways to manage risk factors such as nutrition, physical activity, and stress
  • Learn about local programs and resources available in Tulsa County
  • Be introduced to the Diabetes Empowerment Education Program (DEEP)

About the Presentation

This session will feature a Diabetes Empowerment Education overview provided by Ability Resources, a nonprofit organization that supports individuals with disabilities and chronic health conditions through education and community-based programs.

Participants will also learn how to connect with additional services offered by Ability Resources, including health education programs and wellness activities.
