Free Tulsa “Marketplace Monday” Education Event on April 21

Learn how to use your new health insurance, how to find doctors, and general information about your coverage

Tulsa, OK – Newly insured Tulsans who recently signed up for coverage on the Health Insurance Marketplace now have an opportunity to learn how to use their health insurance.  The first in a series of Marketplace Monday Educational Events will be held on Monday, April 21st. The event is free and open to the public.

“Now that Tulsans were given the opportunity to enroll, we want to make sure they have the access to the information, facilities and doctors that are available to them,” said Diane Rafferty, CEO, OSU Medical Center.  “The population that was able to get insurance now have the means to receive continued preventative care.  We’re all here to help make that happen in order to achieve a healthier Oklahoma.”

Participants may come anytime during the event to speak with representatives from each insurance carrier.  At the top of each hour, there will be a brief presentation with general information about insurance and how to use it to improve their health. Assistance is available for those who may have questions regarding any qualifying life events that could make them eligible for enrollment.

The Tulsa community and health care organizations have partnered to bring Marketplace Monday educational events to the public.  Organizations include: Morton Comprehensive Health Services, Tulsa Regional Chamber, Tulsa Health Department, OSU Medical Center, Indian Health Care Resource Center of Tulsa, Hillcrest HealthCare System, Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Oklahoma, GlobalHealth, Tulsa City-County Library, Community Service Council, CommunityCare and Community Health Connection.
